Ideas for Mom-to-Be

If the baby shower is not a surprise you will be planning on attending a lovely party in your honor. Of course, you are going to want to look your best, but in your third trimester you may not be feeling your best. All the really "fun" stuff about pregnancy really sets in now. You're tired and uncomfortable to say the least. With my second pregnancy my legs and feet swelled up so much I couldn't fit into any of my shoes! You are going to want to find something that you will be comfortable enough in for a few hours.

At your baby shower you will be chatting with guests, opening gifts, and enjoying some delicious food. You will be moving around quite a bit. You will want something that you can move around in, that you won't be hot in and that also looks nice. Regardless of the weather outside it is very easy to get hot during the last trimester. You may want to choose breathable fabrics, such as cotton, with a little stretch so you can move around easily without feeling confined. It's up to you whether you wear a dress, skirt or pants.

You will also want a pair of really comfortable shoes. Luckily, many companies make comfortable shoes that look dressy. Even if your feet don't usually swell up, they may if you don't have an opportunity to put your feet up.

There are many stores (brick and mortar AND online) that specialize in maternity clothes. If you give yourself a little time you'll be able to find the perfect outfit for your baby shower.
