Cupcake in a Jar - The easiest baby shower favor you'll ever make

Mini Mason Jar FavorsMason jars. They've been around for a long time, but they're not just for canning homemade salsa. These versatile jars have found many uses in today's kitchen as well as around the house. I use them in the freezer, to hold rice & pasta and I do actually use them for canning. Here's the latest way to use them: baby shower favors.

One of the tastiest suggestions that I have seen a mason jar used for is a cupcake in a jar. It is so easy to make too!

You will need:

We do our best to stay away from artificial colors in our house so I don't usually color my icing. However, you can color the vanilla icing any color you want if you'd like to tie it into a color theme.

Cupcake in a Jar

The mason jars that we offer hold about 8 fluid oz, or just about 1 cup. You will need to break up the cupcakes into pieces to fit into the jars. Make one layer of cupcake, then pipe in a layer of icing. Repeat.

Put the top on. Affix any personalized labels. Tie a ribbon or baker's twine around the lid. If you're adding the wooden spoon tie it to the jar at the lid.

Set them out for dessert or give them away as baby shower favors. It's that easy!
